Dr. Allan Dworkin attended Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) for his bachelor’s degree, and continued on to the University of Maryland Dental School where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. To specialize in pediatric dentistry, he completed a residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
In addition to his role in creating Cross Keys Dental Associates, Dr. Dworkin has been an active member of the dental community. He was the president and founder of the American Academy of Dental Group Practice, served as the chief of pediatric dentistry at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, taught as a clinician instructor/lecturer at the University of Maryland Dental School, served on the board of visitors at the University of Maryland Dental School, was an associate dental director for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, and was a chief dental officer for Monarch Dental, a dental practice management company. Dr. Dworkin is also an international lecturer, having spoken in Japan, Holland, and Brazil.
